Preparation of light-responsive hydrogels and their application on drug release system |

In this work, we have studied the properties and applications of visible light responsive hydrogels consisted of thermo-responsive hydrogel matrix and iron oxide nanoparticles which show photothermal conversion effect. Volume change of hydrogel beads could be controlled by both temperature and visible light irradiation, and the degree of volume change induced by visible light could be controlled by adjusting LCST of hydrogels. We found that prepared hydrogel beads can be applied to intelligent drug release system which is triggered by visible-light irradiation. |
