제목 The Effects of Fumed Silicas Filled PET Nanocomposites by in-situ Polymerization
초록
PET nanocomposites filled with fumed silicas were prepared via in-situ polymerization method at various mixing conditions such as filler type and filler content. In order to characterize the effects of nano fumed silicas on polymer matrix and compare with the former study of PET nanocomposites by melt compounding mechanical properties, transmission electron microscopy(TEM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), wide-angle X-ray diffraction(WAXS), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), carbon nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(C-NMR), and dynamic rheological measurement were performed. SEM images showed that all fumed silicas were uniformly dispersed into matrix regardless of filler type, and DSC revealed some tendencies which the fillers acted as the delaying agent of crystallization. Especially, elongation at break of some nanocomposites didn't decrease until the filler content reaches 2.0wt%, and hydrophilic fumed silica in hydrophobic polymer matrix caused the characteristic dynamic rheological properties such as shear thinning behavior even at very low frequencies and low filler content.
