In ternary blend, a study of the morphology is crucial because it relates to charge generation, charge transport, and charge collection in organic photovoltaic (OPVs). Here, we propose the model ternary system to investigate the effect of ternary blend morphology on optical properties, thermal behavior, thin film structures, and correlation between these properties and the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of organic photovoltaic (OPVs). In this study, ternary blend consisting of small molecule (TIT-BDTT-TIT) and conjugated polymer (PBDTT-TIT) as electron donor, and phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) as electron acceptor is used by increasing the amount of polymer (PBDTT-TIT). We observed that the addition of small amount of polymers in SM based PSCs was very beneficial for improving their PCE value. |
