Non-linear optical materials, especially dendrimers, have significantly attention as a promising candidates for making electro-optic (EO) devices, since the electric field poling of polymers containing highly non-linear chromophore are often hindered by large dipole moment of the molecules. Recently, we have developed new synthetic methodology for the synthesis of 1,3-dibromo-2-alkylsulfanyl-propane and their derivatives. For their applications in non-linear optical dendrimers, we have prepared new Poly(thioether)dendrimers terminated with NLO Chromophores. In this study, we will disscuss the synthesis of poly(thioether)dendrimers terminated with NLO Chromophores using divergent method, their chemical and optical properties. 1,3-dibromo-2-alkylsulfanyl-propane. |
