Novel ladder-type conjugated polymers: synthesis and application to OFET |

Novel synthetic methods to prepare various ladder-type conjugated polymers have been successfully developed. The optical and physical properties of these novel materials were studied. The extended pi-system of conjugation showed the enhanced intermolecular overlap of pi-pi systems in the solid state. In addition, the planar ladder-type structure showed thermal and oxidative stabilities. Polyphenylene- and polythienothiophene-based ladder-type CPs were prepared by this method, and the possibilities of using these materials for OFET will be discussed. |
