Efficient Light Extraction in Polymer Light Emitting Diodes Embedded with Submicrometer Periodic StructuresInduced by Azobenzene Polymer Surface Relief Gratings |

In the past decade, various light extraction techniques have been researched for organic or polymeric light emitting diodes (LEDs) as well as inorganic LEDs. In this presentation, we demonstrate a cost-effective and simple methodology of the efficient polymer light emitting device fabrications by embedding submicron relief structures made from azobenzene polymer periodic architectures. For a solvent-assisted soft lithography, poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) mold was fabricated by replica molding using 1D, 2D- azobenzene polymer surface relief gratings (SRGs). We investigated the lithographical patterned surface profiles on the polymer films and the light extraction performances of the patterned PLED devices. |
