We synthesized miron-sized core-shell particles composed of polymer and titania(TiO2) for increasing forward scattering over wide angle keeping low backward scattering. As seed particles, micron-sized polystyrene particles stabilized with polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) were prepared by dispersion polymerization. Polystyrene particles in methanol were coated with titania by modified sol-gel process, in which titanium(Ⅳ) isopropoxide(TTIP) were used as precursor, dodecylamine(DDA) as a catalyst in methanol and acetonitrile co-solvent. By adjusting the ratio of chemical ingredients, shell thickness of titania was controlled precisely from 5 nm to 100 nm which changed their light scattering properties. |
