제목 Platinum nano-networks for hydrogen sensing applications
초록 Hydrogen is one of pollution-free energy sources. Despite eco-friendly energy conversion process of hydrogen, there is a delay in practical use of hydrogen energy due to the potential risk of explosion. Prompt and reliable detection of hydrogen can make it possible to utilize hydrogen energy more safely.
We synthesized the platinum nano-networks through simple solution phase method at room temperature, and observed intrinsic sensing responsivity to hydrogen gas. We also applied the Pt nano-networks to hydrogen sensors including AlGaN/GaN heterostructure diode and HEMT. Sensitivity was greatly enhanced, which is ascribed to the large catalytic surface area of Pt nano-networks. Size, density and distribution of nano-networks were well controlled, and optimized by varying synthesis conditions and the number of coating cycle. Platinum nano-networks have great potential in hydrogen sensor applications due to their low cost simple synthesis for mass production and large surface to volume ratio for high sensitivity.
