Piezoelectric Properties of (Bi1/2Na1/2)TiO3-(Bi1/2K1/2)TiO3 Ceramics modified with Ba(Cu1/3Nb2/3)O3 |

New compositions of lead free piezoelectric materials with high performance has been searched for the applications of energy harvesting, ultrasonic transducer, sensors and actuators. Lead-free tetragonal Ba(Cu1/3Nb2/3)O3 (BCN) was chosen to modify the piezoelectric properties of the well known (Bi,Na)TiO3-(Bi,K)TiO3 (BNT-BKT) piezoelectric material. We fabricated the (1-x)[0.82(Bi1/2Na1/2TiO3)-0.18(Bi1/2K1/2TiO3)]-xBa(Cu1/3Nb2/3)O3 ceramic in the range of x = 0-5 %mol using the conventional solid state reaction method and the BCN effect was investigated near the morphotropic phase boundary of BNT-BKT, where would show the enhanced the dielectric, ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties. The structural change, density, dielectric and piezoelectric properties were characterized for the different sintering temperatures. |
