Yellow emitting Ca2BO3Cl:Eu2+ phosphor was obtained byconventional solid state reaction at 900oC. The phosphor showed strong excitationaround near UV region, and broad emission spectrum around 550-585nm due to the allowed 5d-4f transition. The white LED was fabricated by combining Ca2BO3Cl:Eu2+ phosphorwith430nm blue LED chip. The single phosphor white LED exhibited the CIE-1931 of (0.3441, 0.2675) with a low CRI of 67.4 at 20mA. The white color quality was improved by hybridization of yellowphosphorand small amount of 610nm emitting CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals. The developedwhite LEDgenerated warm white lightabout 4200Kwith a high CRI of80.5 at 20mA. The high color stability was also observedagainstincreasing currents. The CIE-1931 was slightly moved from (0.3417,0.2436) at 20 mA to (0.3475, 0.2384) at 80mA. |
