Folding and stretching will be the key characteristics in the next-generation electronic devices, including deformable displays, electronic skins, and energy devices. This talk will present recent developments of stretchable devices achieved in my group. Stretchable electrodes and circuits based on rubber-metal composites or elastic conducting polymers will be discussed first. The stable conductivity at high strains is critical for stretchable electrodes and circuits, while sensitive response to strains and pressure is essential for tactic sensors. Stretchable light emitting diodes and conductive clothing are also promising. This talk presents several potential applications obtainable from the conductive stretchable materials, which includes transistors, tactic sensors, and light emitting devices. |
