Impact Behaviors of Oxy-fluorinated Carbon Composites |
초록 |
Low-velocity impact tests have been conducted to study the impact behaviors of the carbon fibers-reinforced composites with oxy-fluorination. Changes in chemical compositions and fiber/matrix adhesions of the oxy-fluorinated carbon fibers are examined by using the surface analysis and single fiber pull-out test in an epoxy resin system. Morphological properties of the composites after impact tests are performed to characterize the impact damage of the laminated composites. Interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) tests after impact are also applied to study the residual strength of the composites. The results show that the oxy-fluorinated carbon fibers-reinforced composites exhibit stronger fiber/matrix adhesions and have smaller damage zones compared with those of the as-received ones, although the back face crack length and permanent indentation after impacts are a little larger for a given impact energy. Residual ILSS after impacts are also higher for the oxy-fluorinated composites, due to the increase of fiber/matrix adhesion in the composite layers.
