Preparation of Gene Carrier for receptor-mediated gene transfer |

Chitosan has many advantages for safety gene transfer. However, its inefficient gene transfer has to solve to improve the gene transfer in cell membrane. In this study, ligand to target in specific cell was induced at low molecular weight water-soluble chitosan(LMWSC) chain. The characterization of LMWSC derivatives was investigated The evaluation for the effective gene delivery was performed by gel retardation assay, particle size, transfection efficiency, and cytotoxicity. The ability of the gene condensation was investigated by gel retardation assay. LMWSC itself with free-amine group was formed at the low weight ratio, above a 1:2 weight ratio of plasmid DNA : LMWSC. |
