제목 | Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Hole-Transporting Polymers Containing Photo-alignment Functionality |
초록 | Realization of polarized light using OLED has been attracting much attention due to its possible application as a polarized light source in LCD. The polarized electroluminescence needs two essential components : an alignment layer and a liquid-crystalline light emitting material. Of the known alignment techniques, photo-alignment is superior because it is a non-contact, dust-free and easily patternable method. However, photo-alignment layers were always insulators in all previous reports, and hole-transporting materials were mixed to improve hole conduction of the device. Here we propose new carbazole polymers with coumarin functionality. Carbazole is a well-known hole-transporting material and coumarin is also famous for its photo-alignment property. LC cell was fabricated using the polymer as an alignment layer, and Alq3-based OLED was fabricated to examine the hole-transporting property of the polymer. In this presentation, details of polymer syntheses and characterization results will be discussed. |
