In recent years, polymers containing phenothiazine moieties have attracted much attention because of their unique electro-optical properties. The electron-rich phenothiazine is well known material for reducing π-stacking, aggregation and intermolecular excimer formation. We synthesized several phenothiazine-based copolymers containing benzothiadizole, fluorene and aromatic 1,2,4-triazole by the Suzuki and Heck coupling reaction. The phenothiazine-based copolymers are expected to reduce the hole-injection barrier between ITO and copolymers in the devices. In addition, the copolymers with electron-deficient benzothiadiazole and aromatic 1,2,4-triazole are expected to enhance the electron injection/transporting properties. In this presentation, synthesis, optical, electrochemical and electroluminescent properties of a series of phenothiazine-based copolymers will be discussed. |
