Blends of polycaprolactone (PCL) and poly(epichlorohydrin) (PECH) rubber were prepared by melt mixing process in an internal mixer. The thermal and mechanical properties of the blends were investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA), tensile test. The results showed that PECH/PCL blends are miscible, which is considered to be driven by the intermolecular attractive interactions between the blend components. When the PECH content is above 70 wt%, the blends showed typical thermoplastic elastomeric behavior. Moreover, the blends showed temperature responsive shape memory behavior. |
