제목 | Single-Site Catalysts for Preparation of Biodegradable Polymer : Synthesis of Poly(lactic acid) from Lactide |
초록 | Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) has many potential medical, agricultural and packaging applications due to its biocompatibility and biodegradability. A convenient synthetic route to these polymers is the ring-opening polymerization of lactide, the cyclic diester of lactic acid. Some metal complexes with alkoxide can polymerize PLA from lactide. Through ligand design, homogeneous catalysts are available that can control polymer molecular, molecular weight distributions and stereochemistry. In this study, we synthesized various ligands and metal alkoxide complexes. We investigated the effect of ligand structure and type of metal on polymerization behavior. |
