Synthesis of electro-sensitive and pH-responsive hydrogel microcapsules containing multi-walled carbon nanotubes |

The electro-sensitive and pH-responsive poly(vinyl alcohol)/poly(acrylic acid) hydrogel microcapsules were prepared by the water-in-oil emulsion polymerization method. Multi-walled carbon nanotubes were incorporated with the poly(vinyl alcohol)/poly(acrylic acid) hydrogel in order to improve the mechanical properties and electrical conductivities. The morphology was investigated by SEM. The structural and elemental analysis was carried out by XRD. The electrical conductivity was measured and calculated by using resistance analyzer by using four probe method. The mechanical property was measured by broken strength analyzer. The swelling behavior depending on the variation of pH was also investigated. |
