Biomimetic modification of mechanically expanded fibrous meshes for vascular tissue engineering using gamma-ray irradiation |
초록 |
In vascular tissue engineering, there are many approaches to mimic the natural composition of the blood vessel containing intima, media, and adventitia layers. As one of those approaches, we developed blend nanofibrous meshes using electrospinning, and mechanically expanded the meshes. To increase the bioactivity of the meshes, we introduced carboxyl group, and gelatin was conjugated on them. Introduction of carboxyl group was regulated by polymer blending ration at constant AAc concentration and irradiation dose, gelatin was successfully immobilized. In smooth muscle cell (SMC) experiment, initial viability of the SMC was increased on the gelatin functionalized meshes, and SMC infiltration and proliferation were also significantly increased on them. Therefore, our gelatin-functionalized and mechanically expanded meshes may be a good candidate to be essential layer in blood vessel. |
