Polymer capsules and hollow spheres have increasingly attracted interest because of their large surface area and potential applications in catalysis, controlled delivery, artificial cells, light fillers, low dielectric constant materials, acoustic insulation, and photonic crystals. PANI hollow-spheres have several advantages such as the large surface area and conductivity. In this study, PANI hollow-sphere as controlled thickness has been successfully synthesized by three step and using polystyrene (PS) templates with micelle-assisted method. In the first step, emulsion polymerization was used for synthesizing of PS. And then for making PS/PANI core-shell structure, the PANI was covered with difference thickness on the PS. The PANI shell was controlled by amount of aniline monomer. Finally, PS cores were dissolved and removed from the composite by solvent extract, which resulted in product PANI hollow-sphere as controlled thickness. |
