This paper describes the preparation of monodisperse phase change material (PCM)@SiO2 microcapsules by using Shirasu porous glass (SPG) membrane emulsification from octadecane (core material) and tetraethylorthosilicate (shell material). The shell material was prepared by sol-gel method. The chemical structures, morphology, and heat storage of the prepared PCM capsules will be discussed.
