There has been growing interest in energy storage systems for application including industrial power backup, hybrid electric vehicles, and personal electric devices. Much attention has been focused on electrical capacitors (ECs) due to simple energy storage mechanism, high power densities, short charging times, and favorable safety considerations. Herein, we report the demonstration of carbon coated Co3O4 (Co3O4@C) nanoplates consisted of ca. 7 nm-diameters of carbon coated Co3O4 nanoparticles using electrodeposition process. As the prepared Co3O4@C exhibited high specific capacitance (455 F g-1) and cycle stability during charge-discharge cycling owing to carbon coating layer on the Co3O4 surface. |
