An attempt of homogenization-based modeling of liquid phase sintering |
초록 |
Nowadays, industry needs more and more to manufacture innovative products within short time limit to be competitive. Selective Laser Sintering is one of the most popular Rapid Prototyping process. SLS offers the advantage of making metal and ceramic objects and tools directly. Parts are made by adding and bonding materials, layer by layer, without tooling. Such systems are also known as solid freeform fabrication and layered manufacturing. Liquid phase sintering is generally described in three overlapping stages: particle rearrangement, solution-precipitation and Ostwald ripening. Rearrangement of the solid phase is considered here. In this stage rapid densification takes place, where capillary tension acts to bring particles to rearrange themselves. Then, packing becomes more stable. With this model, the phase of elastic compression of the solid particles is described under the action of the densification forces. And from the homogenization theory, the macroscopic behavior of this stressed medium is deduced.
