Dispersion of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) into polymer matrix is one of the most important issues. Electrospinning has been well known to be an efficient method for the fabrication of polymer nanofibers. In this study, the polystyrene (PS) nanofibrs containing multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were prepared using the synthesized surfactants by eletrospinning technique in dimethyl formamide (DMF). The surfactants, poly[(styrene-co-maleic anhydride)-block-(styrene)]s (PSMAs), were synthesized by nitroxide mediated polymerization (NMP) technique and controlled as various molecular weight (MW) and maleic anhydride molar ratio to investigate an effect of MW on the dispersibility of MWNT into a polymer matrix. The synthesized surfactants were characterized by 1H-NMR, FT-IR, and GPC. The prepared PS nanofibers containing MWNT showed good dispersion behavior into a polymer matrix and their average size was c.a. 250 nm. . |
