Performance of Catalytic Reactors (CSTR/FBR) for the Degradation of Polystyrene Waste |
초록 |
Recycling of polystyrene waste to styrene monomer and chemicals has been suffered from the generation of residue during the thermal decomposition process of polystyrene. The residue has been caused to decrease the yields of oil and styrene monomer considerably. Thus, the effective treatment of residue has been one of the important factors in conducting the recovery of styrene monomer and chemicals from the polystyrene wastes. In this study, therefore, comparative performance of CSTR and FBR (Fluidized Bed Reactor) for the catalytic degradation of polystyrene waste was investigated. From the experimental results, the CSTR/FBR multiple reaction system was proposed for the treatment of residue generated from the CSTR in order to obtain the maximum yields of oil and styrene monomer. |
