Spherical hollow silica capsules have been very attractive in many applications due to their low density, large specific surface area, and shell permeability. Mesoporous silica spheres less than 1 ㎛ have been extensively investigated, however, mesoporous silica spheres larger than ca. 10 ㎛ through surfactant-templated synthesiscan hardly be obtained. Large silica microspheres with mesopores have been synthesized by using bis- and tris-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid in our previous study. In this study, effect of water and acid concentrations on the particle morphology of silica capsules was investigated. |
