Photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide depends on largely the specific surface area and crystallite size. Large specific surface area helps the fast transfer of photogenerated carriers on the catalyst surface. So, it lead to fast charge transfer kinetics. The crystallite size rules more active site of TiO2 surface also. In this study, TiO2 was prepared by various TiO2 precursors for investigation on rules of specific surface area and crystallite size. By increasing the specific surface area and decreasing crystallite size of TiO2, the catalysts showed initial fast removal of dye and high photoactivity as a whole. |
