제목 Microarrays of colloidal crystals on the patterned substrate
초록 We developed a novel process to fabricating microarrays of colloidal crystals by the wetting/dewetting of suspensions on a patterned polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). With the aid of O2 plasma treatment and a screen mask, we selectively formed the hydrophilic regions of the PDMS and dropped water-based colloidal suspensions (210 nm or 410 nm diameter particles) or ethanol-added suspensions on the patterned substrate. The suspensions were drawn from the hydrophobic domains to the hydrophilic domains and wetted to form an ordered colloidal assembly through the evaporation process. Also, this study represents a novel technique the fabrication of microarrays of colloidal crystals on the gold patterned electrode surface using the electrophoretic deposition. When the gold patterns were formed on the ITO surface using a screen mask, colloidal particles would preferentially deposit on the gold pattern regions and form the microarrays of colloidal crystals.
