Morphology of electron donor and acceptor components plays important roles in organic photovoltaic solar cells. The pathways for transport of charge carriers to the electrodes are ensured and each donor and acceptor section should be within an exciton diffusion length. To meet these requirements, self-assembling small mass molecules that have both electron donor and acceptor moieties has been suggested. In this work, we synthesized compounds having thiophene and perylene moieties as an electron donor and an acceptor, respectively, and investigated their crystallization, electrochemical, and photophysical properties. |
