Poly(3-alkylthiophenes) (P3ATs) have become very important in the organic electronics due to their excellent charge transport performance, chemically tunable electronic properties, and good solubility in a variety of solvents. To enhance the performance of optoelectric devices, especially for a photovoltaic cell, it is important to control the structure and morphology of thin film by block copolymer approach. In this study, highly regioregular, narrow polydisperse poly(3-hexylthiophenes) (P3HTs) is first synthesized via the Grignard metathesis method and then diblock copolymer of P3HT and poly(t-butyl acrylate) (PtBuA) are synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization. This diblock copolymer is self-assembled into nanostructured morphologies. The morphology of P3HT-b-PtBuAs is controlled by controlling the block copolymer composition |
