P3HT is used as the hole transporting material in OTFT and photovoltaic cell, because of its excellent charge transport performance, chemically tunable electronic properties, and good solubility in a variety of solvents. Despite these many beneficial properties, however, low crystallinity of P3HT films, which results in low charge-carrier mobility in P3HT films, has been a main obstacle in the aforementioned applications. For the purpose of improving this limitation, in this study CNTs are incorporated in P3HT to prepare P3HT/CNT composite films, expecting that CNTs provide percolating channels for the hole transport. The P3HT/CNT composite films are prepared by in-situ polymerization and the degree of CNT dispersion is compared with the composite film made by simple mixing of P3HT and CNTs. The effective hole mobility of the composite materials is examined as a function of preparation condition, and the effect of the CNT on the electrical characteristics of the OTFT is also presented. |
