제목 | Investigation of bimorph actuators based on conductive polymer films |
초록 | Conducting polymer actuator has been intensively studied due to large displacement of low voltage and their potential applications. But in general the bi-layer actuators have a significant problem as delamination process between insulating layer and conducting polymer layer1. In suit polymerization using molecular self-assembly in aqueous solution was utilized to improve interfacial adhesion of them. Fig.1 shows the procedure for fabrication of PPy/sulfonated PVDF-g-PS actuator. First, polyvinylidene fluoride-g-polystyrene (PVDF-g-PS) as the non-conducting polymer was synthesied by grafting with styrene monomers using γ-rays or UV2. And the surface-sulfonated PVDF-g-PS was processed with chlorosulfuric acid. Second, the bimorph-type actuators were formed by chemical oxidation of pyrrole or 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene monomer on surface-sulfonated PVDF-g-PS. The degree of surface-sulfonation was determined from the change of weight and characterized by ATR-IR and FE-SEM. The behaviors and properties of the bimorph actuators were characterized by using laser displacement meter and cyclic voltammetry. Fig. 1.
