Preparation and Property Evaluation of high purity Co-doped (La1-x,Srx) (Ga1-y,Mgy) O3-δ electrolyte |

One promising electrolyte material is (La, Sr) (Ga, Mg) O3−δ(LSGM) based perovskites, which have at least an order of magnitude higher ionic conductivity than conventional yittria stabilized zirconia. It was found that the oxide ion conductivity increased by doping Co into Ga site. However, partial electronic conduction monotonically increases with increasing Co amount and hole conduction was detected at high oxygen partial pressures. Ionic conductivity is significantly increased by small amount of Co doping. Secondary phase is deleterious effects on the ionic conductivity of the materials. Conductivity of LSGMC materials were affected by secondary phase segregation and depended on both composition and synthetic route.
