Carbon dioxide capture using metal-organic frameworks |
초록 |
Global warming is an urgent issue because it causes extreme climate change and consequent environmental harm. The CO2 emission from anthropogenic activities is one of the primary greenhouse gases and, to avert the upcoming natural disaster, one promising strategy is to implement carbon capture and sequestration (CCS). To separate post-combustion CO2 from stationary point sources such as coal-fired power plants, we employed metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with high-density open metal sites that are functionalized by primary or secondary diamines. Adsorption-desorption CO2 cyclings at the real dilute concentrations of air and flue gas were established with almost retaining CO2 capacities, thus providing a superior potential material for practical applications in CO2 capture. |
