Epoxy resins are widely utilized as high performance thermosetting resins for many industrial applications, but they are characterized by relatively low toughness. Carbon nanotubes is suggested to improve the mechanical properties of epoxy resins. In this study, the effect of an electron beam on the curing of epoxy resins was investigated. Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA) as epoxy resin, triarylsulfonium hexafluoroantimonate (TASHFA) as initiator were used. The thermal and dynamic mechanical properties of irradiated epoxy resins were characterized using DMA and TGA. Mechanical properties such as flexural strength and modulus were measured by UTM. |
