Drug-eluting stent (DES) offers a unique versatility for treatment of obstructive coronary artery disease. Solving this, polymer-coated metal stent is a significant breakthrough. Polymer coating layer will lower the surface energy and improve drug loading efficiency which can reduce thrombogenicity. But the durability of polymer on metal still has improvements. We developed a bioinspired dopamine-grafted poly(acrylic acid) adhesives by chemical conjugation method. After metal coating, the surface characteristics including wettability, surface composition and morphology were assessed by the contact angle, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) respectively. Moreover, the in vitro MTT assays were measured on the coating films based on the mouse fibroblast L929 cells and EC cells. Finally, the morphology and attachment behaviors of L929 cells EC cells were investigated. |
