제목 Adsorption Characteristics of Toluene Gas in Activated Carbons modificated by Fluorination
초록 This study investigated suitability to develop an adsorption process for Toluene gas. Phenol based activated carbon (ACs) was chosen as an adsorbent of Toluene gas, ACs was pretreated under various conditions in order to enhance the adsorption efficiency of Toluene gas. Effects of fluorination degree of ACs was examined on breakthrough curves and amounts of adsorbed Toluene gas. The fluorinated ACs was showed high specific surface area and pore volume. The breakthrough point of fluorinated ACs was increased about 27% compared to untreated ACs at 100 ppm of toluene gas concentration. These results are attributed to the change of specific surface area and pore size of ACs due to the fluorination.
