The present status of coatings industry in China is described. The annual output of coatings was 5.8 million tons in 2007, indicating an annual growth rate of 17.6%. Statistics show that the Yangtse Delta region, acting as a hub of coatings industry development in China, shares 34% of total coatings output nationwide. This presentation gives an outlook of coatings industry as environmental friendly coatings are growing rapidly, and innovation highlights will be set to the sectors of nano-structured hybrid coatings, functional coatings, fluorocarbon coatings and waterborne coatings, etc. In 2008, China has changed an overspeed development of coatings industry and grown into a new phase in a healthy way. |
