New technical trends are being introduced in the automotive coating industry. A representative trend is integrated coating process which can reduce more than 20% of the equipment, facility and utility cost of general spray line by eliminating the coating process or the curing process of primer surfacer. It enables the car makers to be much more cost competitive and environmental friendly than others. A cool car concept is another new technical trend in the industry. It is to reduce CO2 originated from car air conditioner especially in summer by using solar reflective paint, solar reflective glazing and solar powered ventilation system. As a waterborne automotive coating became universal technology in the automotive coating industry, these new trends are spotlighted as advanced technologies that are much more environmental friendly and saving cost. |
