제목 The field emission property of single wall carbon nanotubes on the ITO glass
초록 The carbon nanotubes have been researched to apply to the field emission devices because of its high aspect ratio, electrical conductivity, and physical stability. These properties can be obtain low turn on field and high current density. But the field emission stability and uniformity of carbon nanotube emitters should be improved for applying to the field emission display and LCD BLU. The single wall carbon nanotubes have been deposited on the ITO glass substrate by in situ arc discharge methods. The single wall carbon nanotubes have been purified by thermal oxidation and chemical wet etching processes. The single wall carbon nanotube and ITO were agglomerated during chemical etching processes. The field emission properties of single wall carbon nanotubes have been characterized after activation processes. The turn on field was about 2 V/μm and the maximum current density was 1 mA/cm2. The field emission stability was also measured at 0.7 mA/cm2 of current density. The field emission was constant during 8 hours.
