Grafting of Polyaniline onto the Surface of Amine-Functionalized Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes |
초록 |
Less destructive chemical modification of various carbon nanotubes (CNTs) via electrophilic substitution reaction in a mild polyphosphoric acid (PPA)/phosphorous pentoxide (P2O5) medium has been developed. Even though functionalized MWNTs (F-MWNT) are almost no or minimum damaged, introducing organics onto the sidewall of MWNT could still reduce electric and thermal conductivities on its surface. Thus, to minimize the surface damages of MWNTs and to maintain the conductivities of resultant nanocomposites, we would like to introduce organics containing reactive functional groups via electrophilic substitution reaction to afford F-MWNT. Electrically conductive polyaniline (PANi) was grafted to the surface of F-MWNT via in-situ polymerization. As a result, the conductivities of resultant nanocomposite would be less sacrificed and the solubility of nanocomposite could be further enhanced due to grafting of PANi. |
