Metallic nanowires can be used as an important building block for various fields such as electronic devices, biosensing devices, human biomedical replacements and other industrial devices. The self-assembly of block copolymers (BCPs) that can produce well-defined structure on the nanometer scale makes them ideal applicant as templates for the fabrication of nanostructured materials. In this work, we have used block copolymer as a template for fabrication of one dimensional (1D) metal nanowires. For the purpose, cylinder forming PS-b-P2VP was used, and the order and orientation of P2VP cylinders were controlled by solvent annealing. Along the nanopatterns produced by block copolymer self-assembly, highly-ordered metallic nanowires were successfully generated. These results indicate that block copolymer self-assembly can provide very simple route to create well-ordered metallic nanostructure, for various potential applications. |
