제목 Small Intestinal Submucosa (SIS) Sheet Coated Alginate and Gelatin as Wound dressing
초록 Dressings have been applied to open wounds for centuries. Traditionally they have been absorbent, permeable materials. With the advent of modern wound care products many dressings are now capable of absorbing exudate while still continuing to provide a moist wound healing environment. Porcinal small intestinal submucosa (SIS) as a new material mainly composed of collagen, glycosaminoglycan, and various growth factors, has been widely used as organ reconstructions and wound dressing without immuno-rejection responses1. In this study, we prepared SIS sheets coated on their surface by alginate and gelatin. As natural polymer, algo inate and gelatin were selected to improve wound healing activity. SIS sheets were immersed in 2% alginate solution and 2% gelatin solution for 30 min at room temperature. And we prepared SIS sheets by spreading and freeze-drying. The prepared SIS sheets were evaluated their characteristics such as water uptake ability, surface morphology, in vitro degradation test and biocompatibility of NIH/3T3. The biocompatibility of NIH/3T3 was found to be acceptable at cell density of 2 × 104 cells/cm2. The possibility of SIS as a biological wound dressing in 3 × 3 cm2 of full thickness wounds made on the back of Sprague-Dawley rats had been investigated. The rate of wound contraction was measured for 20 days. From this study, SIS is regarded as an appropriate biodegradable material able to dress the wound like a burn in substitution of the traditional artificial composite materials the expected to be used as the biological dressings.
