제목 | Composite of SIS Sheet and Poly(n-vinylpyrrolidone) for Wound Dressing |
초록 | Tissue engineering techniques have been investigated the possibility of the application of small intestine submucosa (SIS) for a wound dressing. SIS is the natural biomaterials mainly composed of collagen, glycosaminoglycan and growth factors1. It has been recently recognized that SIS has been examined as organ reconstructions without immuno-rejection response2. We attempted that the synthetic polymer was used to compose the wound dressing with SIS sheet. The aqueous solution of poly(n-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) 10 wt%, 20 wt% and 30 wt% were prepared and native SIS sheet immersed into the solution and then lyophilized. Morphologic observation of the composite was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and water uptake ability was examined to evaluate the possibility as wound dressing. Also, the enzymatic degradation test was carried out to observe the effect of PVP and compared with native SIS sheet. The SIS-PVP composite showed lower enzymatic degradation than native SIS sheet. In conclusion, we suggest that SIS-PVP composite can be used as a wound healing and tissue construction.
