Solar energy has been widely studied in scientific communities because it is almost limitless source with tremendous potential. Among the various research, metal oxide based photoanode system has been paid attention due to its novel properties such as eco-friendly and cost effective solar energy conversion. One of the metal oxide, BiVO4 is suitable for solar-assisted system, because it has proper band gap (2.4 eV) to absorb wide range of light. However, its intrinsic properties, such as poor charge mobility and abundant charge recombination, hinder to reach high light harvesting efficiency. Herein, to solve out above-mentioned problems, we introduced core-shell structured Au@NiO nanoparticles on BiVO4 based photoelectrode to induce plasmonic effect. Due to the plasmonic effect of Au nanoparticles, and the catalytic NiO passivation, we expect that the light harvesting efficiency and optoelectric property of BiVO4 is enhanced with improved charge transfer, charge transport. |
