We demonstrate a novel and facile method to fabricate graphene based electrodes for highly sensitive biosensing platform. Graphene thin films are prepared from alternate deposition of oppositely charged graphite oxides (GO) via layer-by-layer self assembly. Assembled thin film is used as a working electrode and is further fabricated to electrochemical impedance sensors for label-free detection of biomolecules. The attachment of bovine serum albumin (BSA) hampers the redox probe close to the electrode surface which changes electrochemical impedance signal. Compared with CVD graphene film, the graphene LbL film proves a very sensitive detection for BSA. In addition, electron transfer resistance (Ret) change is confirmed through an antigen-antibody reaction between BSA and anti-BSA. Finally, graphene based bio-sensor is fabricated for detection of bisphenol A with high sensitivity and selectivity. |
