Morphology and Electro-optical Property of Holographic Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal Based on Silicon Polymer |

To minimize driving voltage in holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal(HPDLC) various amounts of vinyloxy-trimethylsilane or vinyltrimethoxysilane have been added to the conventional polyurethane acrylate(PUA) system at a specific composition of urethane acrylate oligomer/dipentaerythritol hexa-/penta acrylate(DPHPA)/N-vinyl pyrrollidone(NVP)=4/3/3. It was founded that HPDLC based on polymer matrix containing silicon atom showed low driving voltage compared with conventional PUA system, which is subject to the decreased interface energy between polymer and LC. Such HPDLC also showed good grating formation and high diffraction efficiency due to great phase separation. |
