제목 Development of metal-loaded zeolite catalyst for selective ring opening of multi-ring aromatic in heavy oil upgrading
초록 Heavy oil, by-produced from petrochemical industries and oil refinery, has been used as cheap fuel. Due to rigorous environmental regulations and persistent high oil prices, upgrading process of heavy oil have attracted interest to many researchers. Multi-ring aromatics, especially naphthenic molecules, are the major components of heavy oil. Selective ring opening (SRO) should be a potential route for the production of valuable compounds including benzene, toluene, ethyl-benzene, and xylene (BTEX) from heavy oil. Bi-functional catalytic system (metallic and acidic functions) is required in the SRO of naphthenic molecules. In this work, we prepared bi-functional catalysts using zeolites with various SiO2/Al2O3 ratios for the acidic function and NiW for the metallic function. The SRO of 1-methylnaphthalene has been investigated using the bi-functional catalysts with different acidity in fixed bed reactor system.
