Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is one of the most commonly used clinical diagnostic imaging technologies. MRI provides high resolution images of body, even soft tissues with contrast agents. In these days, MR contrast agents are usally composed of Gadolinium(Gd) chelated compounds. However, most MR contrast agents do not have disease-specific feature so that have limitation to effectively diagnose diseases. There are various biomaterials to recognize specific site of lesion, so it can support them to diagnosis specific disease by using MR contrast agents with biomaterials. Therefore, we designed hepatocyte-specific MR contrast agent (HS-MA) to deliver the agent to hepatocyte and expect more effective liver diagnosis. HS-MA was characterized by 1H NMR spectrophotometers, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR) and Confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). Also, MR imaging properties were confirmed by MR scanner. |
