Various series of UV-curable urethane-acrylate(UV-PUA) prepolymers for optical films were prepared from isophorone diisocyanate, various types of polyols (polytetramethylene ether glycol, polypropylene glycol, polycaprolactone diol, polycarbonate diol), and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate with dibutyltin dilaurate as a catalyst. UV-PUA resins were formulated from prepolymer, various diluents and photoinitiator, 1-hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone(Igacure 184). In this work, we studied the effects of prepolymers type, reactive diluent type and overall composition of prepolymer/diluent on the properties of UV-PUA such as optical transmittance, refractive index, hardness, viscosity and mechanical properties. In most series, the optical transmittance and refractive index of film samples prepared in this study were found to be more than 91% and 1.47, respectively. The hardness of film was mainly dependent on the type of diluent in the range of shore A about 65 ~ shore D about 75. |
